RAK CHAPTERRAK CHAPTER T he German Spring Festival returned to Ras Al Khaimah for the third time on March 20 2014 as part of the AHK RAK Chapter s efforts to bring the Ras Al Khaimah and German communities closer The festival showcased traditional German music and culture as well as local and German companies Organised by the Ras Al Khaimah Chapter of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce AHK in a tent in the garden of the Hilton Hotel Ras Al Khaimah the festival brought together more than 300 guests to celebrate in German style with German food and traditional live music performed by German bands Lollypop and Die Aulendorfer H H Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council honoured the event with his presence and spent almost two hours engaging with the guests and enjoying the cordial atmosphere Among the guests were several representatives of German and local authorities in particular H E Nikolai von Schoepff German Ambassador and H E Klaus Ranner German Consul General in Dubai Speaking at the event Dr Peter Goepfrich CEO of AHK said Since its establishment in 2010 the Local Chapter of AHK in Ras Al Khaimah has been extremely active and worked very hard to reinforce the close relationship between Ras Al Khaimah and Germany The success of such events and of all other initiatives of the RAK Chapter relies on the full commitment of our member companies in RAK as well as on the support of local authorities We deeply value this commitment and are very proud that the community in Ras Al Khaimah as well as the local government in particular H H Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi fully cooperate and support our activities The festival was accompanied by a small exhibition where the sponsor companies along with the German International School Sharjah displayed products and information about their services The success of the event can be credited to the commitment of the members of our RAK Chapter Special thanks go to the organizing committee Moritz Kerler Andreas Hangarter and Sandra Woest as well as to the sponsors of the event Stevin Rock LLC Quarry Mining LLC Knauf RAK FZE RAK German Engineering FZC Eskate Middle East FZC InvestiQ FZ LLC and Namo Villa The prizes for the Dirndl contest were kindly sponsored by Seawings LLC which offered two vouchers for seaplane tours n h h sheiKh sAUd bin sAqr Al qAsiMi honoUrs the gerMAn spring festiVAl in rAs Al KhAiMAh 34 ISSUE 12 MAJLIs
