INTERVIEWINTERVIEW In 1993 the former Federal President of Germany Richard von Weizsaecker presented to late Abdul Jalil Al Fahim the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany our brilliantly constructed state of the art compound over one million square feet in Mussafah in 2009 More recently we have been consistently opening new branches for our automotive business members and we currently have three locations for Western Motors Jeep and Fiat authorized distributors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi a dedicated operations for Al Ain under Eastern Motors which is undergoing complete renovation Fairmont Bab Al Bahr which is owned by Al Fahim Group and the Tourism Development Investment Company TDIC among other advancements from our non automotive subsidiaries across other industries such as travel and tourism oil and gas industrial real estate and property investment Today we are a landmark in Abu Dhabi as we house the world s largest Mercedes Benz facility through our flagship company Emirates Motor Company EMC Mercedes Benz authorized distributor in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Furthermore our success story continues with our acquisition of equity interests in international establishments such as the UK based Big Bus Company Additionally we have been a part of many community activities since our inception as we truly believe that to continue succeeding one must always give back to refuel the society and contribute to the advancement of the country We have also dedicated the Abdul Jalil Al Fahim and Family Endowment for charitable donations and financial aids Alongside other sponsorships we have consecutively partnered with diverse government organizations such as the Traffic Police Department GHQ Armed Forces Health Authority of Abu Dhabi among many as my father founded the business in 1958 On the other hand our flagship company EMC celebrated 50 years of unlimited commitment to service excellence in 2012 EMC has been an icon in the motoring industry in the UAE and has witnessed the exponential growth of the emirate in its rich half century of history As the flagship company of the Al Fahim Group EMC symbolizes the phenomenal advancement of its parent company From humble beginnings in 1962 EMC has progressed with Abu Dhabi to become the leading automotive company in the premium sector of the market Enjoying the vision of three generations of the Al Fahim family over the decades to become one of the world s most famous and largest Mercedes Benz distributors EMC embodies the success and excellence of both Mercedes Benz and Al Fahim Group Therefore our celebration gathered various VIPs and was held under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Higher Education Scientific decided to import 13 Mercedes 600 Pullmans and Mercedes Benz Germany sent a committee to investigate such a big order of kings cars I recall that to drive them on sand we had to fit balloon tires Since then our relationship with Germany continued to thrive and we brought in more products from the best automotive experts in the world the Germans We also represent Bosch Car Service Bosch Automotive Parts Power Tools in the UAE More importantly the family was honored to witness in 1993 my father Abdul Jalil Al Fahim being bestowed with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany Cross of Merit as recognition from the then President of the Federal Republic of Germany for his praiseworthy business efforts between the UAE and Germany This was the beginning of a special bond for me with Germany Today I travel at least three times a year to this beautiful and intelligent country and my most preferred cities are Hamburg and Düsseldorf dUE To ThE GLoBaL EcoNomIc cRISIS for the flagship company of Al Fahim Group Emirates Motor Company Mercedes Benz authorized distributors for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi We received the Best Sales Ever Award 2012 from Daimler Middle East Levant DMEL for achieving a 26 increase over 2011 sales The market showed a great improvement compared to previous years owing to our first class customer service across all departments opening of a new showroom on Airport Road strong offers on key models more flexible finance solutions and the launch of many new attractive models Furthermore the positive trend continues in 2013 with a prosperous 10 increase from January to August compared to the same period last year Actually since the last quarter of 2012 onwards we have observed a gradual sales spike month on month across all our models
