W hether the turmoil on China s stock markets in the summer will bring sustained turbulence to the world economy is as yet un known But it does look as if the country s economic growth will be more moderate in the future China has entered an era of nor mal economic growth declares Michael Kruppe General Manager of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre SNIEC Some industry experts are therefore fore casting that there will also be less dynamic growth in the trade fair and convention in dustries he adds At the same time they are expecting tougher competition Kruppe views scenarios like this as an opportunity rather than a threat Shanghai has the po tential to develop into the most important trade fair host in Asia or even the world he believes In which case the most important trade fairs would focus even more on the most important metropolitan region in China According to the official figures almost 770 trade fairs were held in Shanghai in 2014 representing growth of 6 5 percent The SNIEC boss believes Shanghai s biggest current challenge is to prove it can host secure high quality events Our city must show the world that international or ganisers can bring their brand events here emphasises Kruppe And that they needn t worry about being copied He describes the SNIEC as a neutral trade fair centre which is his way of saying there is no intention of competing with successful guest organisers by organising industry fairs on the same themes Organisers can thus take a relaxed approach to the project and just focus on their core business Kruppe has also identi fied another decisive factor It has really paid for us to listen to our customers in the 81TradeFairs Internation al 5 2015 INTERNATIONAL Jedes Jahr im März lockt die Domotex Asia Chinafloor rund 40 000 Besucher aus aller Welt ins SNIEC Held every March at the SNIEC Domotex Asia Chinafloor attracts 40 000 visitors from around the world Ph ot o D eu ts ch e M es se
