can come to Uzbekistan for a period of up to 30 days without a visa A new modern air port is being constructed in the capital that will increase the number of flights linking the city to different parts of the world Of course trade fairs are playing a role in this growth and will continue to do so by pulling in exhibitors and fairgoers from abroad Our trade fair industry is expected to grow constantly in the coming years and new events will be developed What were the reasons behind the construc tion of Central Asian Expo and how big an investment was it Uzbekistan s economy has great potential and the country also benefits from its geo graphical position in central Asia enabling us to act as a bridge to and from Asia We have invested a total of around USD 30 mil lion in the construction of the venue We al so own land all around the site which will enable us to build further halls if there is de mand for them We firmly believe that CAEx will experience rapid growth just as our economy is growing rapidly 2024 will be the venue s first full year in op eration What are your expectations and what are your reasons for having those ex pectations We are expecting to host up to 15 trade fairs next year and around 12 other events be cause even before CAEx was finished we were in contact with companies interested in organising events there in 2024 We have just hosted our very first trade fair for furniture and decor which was attended by more than 10 000 visitors in three days just a week af ter our official opening It has been a very encouraging start and holds the promise of great success in the coming years Can you tell us some of the important trade fairs that will be held at CAEx in 2024 We are still in negotiations with internation al trade fair organisers The important trade fairs that we want to host in 2024 include events in a variety of different industries the automotive industry oil and gas textiles fur niture and decor construction products for children technology tourism and machinery Will you be organising your own trade fairs or will you be focusing primarily on guest events Our primary focus will be on international organisers and on bringing significant estab lished trade fairs to Uzbekistan That doesn t mean that we can t organise events our selves These will certainly be primarily B2C events because we don t want to ever be seen as being in competition with our inter national organisers What can guest organisers expect Organisers can look forward to benefiting from a brand new event venue offering 18 000 square metres of exhibition space plus a foyer with a further 5 000 square me tres CAEx offers the best and latest equip ment and facilities eight seminar rooms a conference hall and a food court There are 2 000 square metres of storage space and we have all the equipment required to help with setting up and taking down exhibition stands We also help organisers with market ing and in any other way we can www caex uzbekistan com PB 45TradeFairs Internation al 3 4 2023 Venue4you on its way Venue4you is a new digital venue book ing platform especially designed tomatch the demands of the global exhi bition and congress industry the realisa tion of which is now being fervently pur sued We are slowly but surely getting there says Björn Delin CEO of Venue4you and a long standing member of the interna tional exhibition industry The work of put ting together an urgently needed booking platform for larger exhibitions congresses and events is shaping up nicely And he has had many conversations with all kinds of ven ues and organisers recently We are now busy signing agreements with all types of venue owners continues Björn Delin This includes everything from large hotel chains to individ ual exhibition venues in Scandinavia and in the rest of the world We are very well re ceived when explaining the idea and the busi ness model For the coming years the Ven ue4you booking service will be free of charge for both venues and organisers in order to es tablish the platform and get it up and running That was one of the reasons why many ven ues now want to join But Venue4you is not only a booking platform Agreements have also been made with MICE publishing com panies to ensure that the platform consis tently presents relevant and up to date news And that s not all Apart from tying more venues to the service Venue4you is currently working on developing a database of international organisers The plan is to start with a soft launch in early 2024 www venue4you com Ph ot o C A Ex Das war ein sehr ermutigender Start It has been a very encouraging start
