20 Messe Stuttgart helps its employees to organise their everyday work and leisure time in the most sustainable way Two days a month employees have the opportunity to work at home in a so called home office This creates more flexibility in the work life balance and reduces the monthly emissions on the way to work by up to 10 per cent In order to minimise the environmental impact on the other days Messe Stuttgart offers its employees subsidised annual tickets for public transport This will create incentives to also stop using cars in everyday life away from the route to work In the Social Intranet of Messe Stuttgart there is a car sharing exchange to form in company car pools This relieves the burden on commuter traffic and the environment Another contribution towards sustainable mobility for work and leisure is the leasing option for company bikes which Messe Stuttgart introduced in April 2017 A large number of models such as e bikes mountain bikes trekking bikes and racing bikes can be leased in the form of a salary conversion at favourable condi tions and are then also available for private use The home office offer is used by very many employees However the options of rail tickets car pools or company bikes are also being utilised to an increasing extent In order to also promote sustainability issues besides environmentally friendly mobility among employees a staff training course has already been staged in this re spect One employee from each department took part in this training course in order to pass on to his her respective area the knowledge that was discussed and acquired as a multiplier As of now the next step will be to use the company s own Social Intranet to directly reach and include every individual employee This measure complements Messe Stuttgart s under standing of sustainability as an interactive and integra e bike service of Messe Stuttgart
