Message from the Former  Executive Director of MGCC 7MESSAGES Congratulations MGCC on the first 25 years  It was an honour and a pleasure to have served at the  world s highest Chamber from 2008 to 2015  I am deeply grateful for having had the chance to meet  and work with so many outstanding and committed people  The worldwide network of German Chambers abroad  AHK Network  provides the Malaysian  German Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a strong institutional base linking MGCC with  130 German Chambers in 90 countries  AHKs  as well as 79 regional Chambers in Germany  IHKs    This is an important asset to achieve day to day tasks as well as to make an impact on policy  developments towards a business friendly  fair and transparent regulatory framework  But what makes the Chamber truly special are its dedicated  knowledgeable and creative people   These include the Chamber s staff  the members of the Chamber s Board of Directors as well as  representatives of member companies and a wide range of partners in the public and private sector  in Malaysia as well as in Germany  People get the job done  people get involved  with motivation  creativity and commitment to serve  and drive the goals of the Chamber  A big thank you goes out to all the individuals that I have worked with  People who have made  MGCC what it is today  A strong and trusted institution serving its members as well as its clients and  shaping the bilateral dialogue for the benefit of Malaysian German economic and business  relationships  All would deserve to be named individually  but that would require a publication in itself   Nevertheless  I take the liberty to name one who represents the very core of the Chamber as well as  its people  Datuk Muhammad Feisol bin Haji Hassan  He is one of the founding fathers of the  Chamber and has served on Board of Directors without interruption  In this capacity  which includes his term as the Chamber s president  Datuk Feisol has been  instrumental in bringing vocational training based on German standards to Malaysia  Thanks to his  tireless promotion  MGCC succeeded in launching the German dual vocational training in industrial  and logistics management in July 2014 with a group of 22 young Malaysians at 17 German  companies  This success story is augmented by achieving to include this training programme into the Malaysian  National Occupational Skills Standards  With this firm base in the national educational system   Malaysia s youth are offered an exiting new career path for the benefit of the country s economy  and fulfilling the demand of companies for highly qualified and motivated staff  During my time  I had the privilege of being a part of the MGCC team and family  We have created  a number of other highlights  including the significant extension of the service range of the  Chamber  creating awareness for sustainability and CSR as well as mediating the creation of a strong  European chamber  But these are stories which might be told at some other time or place  I close with my heartfelt greetings from Berlin  back in the political arena of Germany s capital and  confronted with days that get colder and shorter this time of the year  While enjoying the new  challenges and the crisp air  I cherish the memories of the dynamics of the private sector and the  warmth of Malaysia and its people  Alexander Stedtfeld Alexander Stedtfeld was the Executive Director of MGCC from 2008 to 2015
