Even though I have just been at the MGCC for about a month I am grateful to be involved in a lot of different projects and events My most inspiring event so far was the opportunity to participate in the Chamber s Sundowner in Penang where I met partners of the MGCC and therefore have a good insight in the cooperation Congratulation to MGCC It s my great pleasure to congratulate the Malaysian German Chamber of Commerce and Industry on its 25th anniversary I am also personally pleased to have shared in nearly a fifth of this time in a very fruitful cooperation Together we produced an investment guide for German companies Malaysia kleines Land großer Industriestandort We also joined hands to brief German delegations to Malaysia and the local press We issued joint recommendations on promising industries and we continue to regularly exchange information about Malaysia s economy I really look forward to continuing this successful partnership and friendship I have been a trainee at MGCC since the September 1st meaning for about 2 weeks now I am currently in between my Bachelor and Master and wanted to do several internships to get an inside view into the private public and research sector I thought that a Chamber of Commerce was the ideal place to get a broad experience of different areas of the private sector I choose Malaysia because I think it is a fascinating country because it combines Asia s three major cultural spheres in it I think the work here is interesting everyone is very kind helpful and the environment is pleasant to work in I started my internship at MGCC on 1st September 2016 and will be working there until 31st January 2017 I chose MGCC as a place to do my internship because it provides a good opportunity to get an insight into working in an international environment and to apply the knowledge of my studies into practice Julian Barazi intern from September until December 2016 Lena Gruenhoefer intern from September 2016 until January 2017 Simon Koch intern from August 2016 until January 2017 Rainer Jaensch Representative of Germany Trade Invest for Malaysia Singapore and Brunei 26 FEATURE Over the years the Chamber received many interns and trainees mainly from Germany who enriched the MGCC team with their presence and played an important part in many successful projects while gaining meaningful experience for their future careers
