T he third edition of South East Asia s leading wine and spirits fair will finally be staged from 2 to 5 March 2021 Jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and Informa Markets it will co locate with Food Hotel Asia FHA Food Beverage The venue is the city state s largest exhibition centre Singapore Expo The fair had to be postponed due to tightened border control measures and travel re strictions in the fight against Corona Total lockdown measures in some countries and tighter social distancing measures also played a role Plus Recently Singapore s government had announced the sus pension of all events and mass gatherings In view of these restric tions a new date had to be found at short notice The decision is right and responsible in view of the latest devel opments in relation to Covid 19 argues Gernot Ringling Though a difficult but necessary decision the health and safety of all stake holders takes priority says the managing director of Messe Düssel dorf Asia We are convinced that the new date coupled with the synergistic co location with FHA Food Beverage will generate much needed business for the industry he points out Together the two exhibitions will pro vide a dynamic sourcing and networking platform for the food drinks wines and spirits portfolios The ProWine Asia Singapore team is now pushing ahead with its organising efforts for March 2021 in consultation with all attendees Despite the delay in staging the event the organisers hope to repeat or even surpass the success of the last edition The previous second ProWine Asia Singapore 2018 featured around 300 exhibitors from over 30 countries This included 15 international country pavilions Almost 7 500 trade visitors from the ASEAN region visited the stands The booming city state is consid ered a market with great potential for European and North American wines Plus Singapore is growing in momen tum to become the wine hub of the re gion and the gateway to other South East Asian markets says Beattrice Ho project director at Messe Düsseldorf Asia mda messe dusseldorf com PB 31 INTERNATIONAL SINGAPORE Third time lucky ProWine Asia Singapore was to take place this spring Then it was postponed to July and rescheduled again due to Covid 19 Now it is to take place in 2021 Ph ot o M es se D üs se ld or f A si a
