T he flagship trade show of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Associa tion IMTMA has a history going back over five decades Imtex has long been the leading industry trade show in the subcontinent and South East Asia In 2009 the machine tool show was subdivided into two events that are held in alternate years one focusing on metal cutting in odd years and the other on metal forming in even years Accordingly the focus from 21 to 27 January 2021 in Bangalore will again be met al cutting The decision makers at the IMT MA are hoping this event will get the same kinds of numbers as its predecessor at which 1 222 exhibitors from 26 countries ex hibited their latest developments and prod ucts Almost 43 percent of those companies came from abroad There were also seven national shared stands Almost 91 500 visi tors from 57 countries filled the exhibition halls of Bangalore International Exhibition Centre BIEC Like Hannover Messe the event on which it is modelled the machine tool show s primary focus has long been on high tech Now that it is increasingly a showcase for the latest future oriented technologies Imtex has been renamed the International Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technolo gy Exhibition It will be following on seam lessly from what began at its predecessor event in 2019 when new pavilions were in troduced covering additive manufacturing and Industrie 4 0 53 exhibitors and over 300 delegates were among those to converge in these new areas In 2021 these two pavilions will be linked under the banner Digital Man ufacturing The trade show ToolTech will be running at the BIEC concurrently with Im tex This creates synergies for vendors and buyers focusing on parts accessories and systems for machine tools and manufactur ing technology A programme of events accompanying the trade show itself in the BIEC s exhibition halls will again be laid on One of the events planned for Imtex 2021 is Connect the aim of which is to make students and young en gineers more aware of the opportunities available to them in manufacturing industry The young people will be able to talk to in dustry experts and learn more about how the mechanical engineering industry supports economic growth and about the role of me chanical engineers in the industry The i2 pavilion is aimed at universities and research and development institutions i2 stands for industry and institutions The organisations concerned will be able to present their fu ture oriented capabilities in the field of met alworking 12 selected projects will be given presentation space free of charge at Imtex www biec in PB 23TradeFairs Internation al 2 2020 INDIA Increased focus on high tech Bangalore International Exhibition Centre is currently closed for shows due to Covid 19 It is expected to reopen in the autumn and Imtex is coming round again at the beginning of 2021 Längst hat sich die Werkzeugmaschinenmesse Imtex zum führenden Branchenschaufenster für Indien und Süd ost asien entwickelt Imtex machine tool trade fair has long established itself as the industry s leading showcase in India and South East Asia Ph ot o IM TM A
