95 The Authors André Ziemke André Ziemke is the co founder and a managing director of the Munich based nextLAP GmbH a firm specializing in the use of the Internet of Things in production He first spent two years as IT manager for the corporate CIO at Volkswagen and then worked for seven years for the Audi CIO until 2014 At AUDI AG Ziemke was in charge of pro duction IT at all its facilities his responsibilities included the smooth operation of all production IT systems as well as the execution of innovative projects Among other things this included the introduction of SAP in the Audi press plants in Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt paperless manufacturing at the Ingolstadt facility and an SAP based parts list at the Volkswagen Group Before his time at VW Ziemke had already successfully established an e business company a nd had gained years of experience in IT consulting He attended the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences earning his degree in industrial engineering there Dr Thomas Stöckel During his 13 years of employment at Audi Dr Thomas Stöckel also a founder and a managing director of NextLAP GmbH dealt with auto motive production from various perspectives His main emphases were in production and logistics planning and the digital factory field He was most recently responsible for the planning and operation of production IT over a three year period in Ingolstadt Before his time at Audi and following his studies in information science Stöckel specialized in production control automation and IT He received his doctorate in this area at the professorial chair for manufacturing automation and production systems at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen Nürnberg Lars Thomsen Lars Thomsen is one of the leading futurists and trend researchers world wide The Hamburg native is considered one of the most influential experts on the future of energy mobility and smart networks He advises entrepreneurs companies corporations institutions and government related agencies on the development of strategies and business models for the future Meanwhile his list of personal references includes more than 800 companies He spends about 30 percent of his time on explo ratory and research related travel throughout the world In addition to his entrepreneurial activities he is also a member of numerous think tanks as well as the World Future Society in Washington D C He is also in demand as a speaker
