22 Messe Stuttgart is the first trade fair centre in Ger many to be connected to an airport a motorway a federal trunk road a rapid transit railway line and the long distance bus network The immediate proximity to Stuttgart Airport just 3 minutes walk away means there is no need for additional taxi journeys by all international visitors to trade fairs and congresses The trade fair centre can be reached from Stuttgart city centre in around 25 minutes on public transport stress free and in an environmentally friendly way When the U6 line is completed the rail link will include two more underground railway stops As part of the Stuttgart Ulm rail project Messe Stuttgart and Stutt gart Airport will be connected to the ICE network through the construction of an underground ICE station Messe Stuttgart the ICS and the VVS Stuttgart public transport network jointly offer combined tickets which are valid for the entire VVS public transport network The combined ticket is actually included in the event ticket for all of Messe Stuttgart s own trade fairs and exhibitions Visitors can therefore travel free of charge to and from the trade fair centre in the VVS public transport network in an environmentally friendly man ner This also applies to exhibitors at our own trade fairs For trade fair and congress visitors from outside the VVS network the event ticket of Deutsche Bahn German Railways enables them to travel from any DB station in Germany at a reduced fixed price Thanks to the event tickets visitors travel in long distant trains powered by 100 green electricity This means that the CO2 footprint of the particular event see Page 9 is reduced significantly compared with travel by car or air Three EnBW charging points are located outside the East Entrance It is planned to install additional charging points on completion of the West Entrance Up to six electric cars e bikes and pedelecs can th erefore be charged within a very short space of time In July 2017 the charging facilities were extended to The trade fair centre with the adjacent airport motorway and rapid transit railway line
